t28 or big evo 16g

I have a 97 gsx and I want to swap the turbo. I found the t28 and the 16g and was wondering which turbo would be better for my car. I have basic mods.

Go with the B16 G ......but you will need injectors, a fuel pump and an AFC to get the full benefit of it.

Come on Dan, I know it is hard to get people to do this.



The standard T-28 is no match for the capabilities of the EVO 16G.


Things that come into play.

T-28 i a direct drop in
Evo16G requires a kit. More money is required for that.

Both should get better injectors and a pump.

650's for the Evo
550's for the t28

190 for both or for more money 255 with the appropriate AFPR setup.

I'd say E3 16G over the T28. Price difference is small. $550 plus $200 for the kit is right around what most vendors charge for the T-28

I've had both an evo16g and a big t28 and by far I vote for the evo16g. The lag on it is a little more but the dam push you get from the 16g compared to the t28 is just so much stronger I feel like.

Maybe it's just me but I love the 16g I'm running now way more than the t28 I was running. That I am selling that needs a rebuild.

But again... that's my opinion.
