I was just wondering if anyone has seen t-tops on a eclipse? I know its not stock but my friend said he saw a 1g with custom t tops. That gave me the crazy idea to do t tops on my 2g but I think I would like to talk to someone else who has done it first. Maybe even see some pics if you guys could just show me a pic I will fill you in with my step by step process if I like it that is. THanks.

dude, use the search button. there are 194205430584356400 post of t-tops on 2gs....

that car you see, i forget the guys name, but he added like a roll cage and all kinds of shit to keep the frame nice and rigid. he did a real good job with his and from what i remember, he said it seals nicely. and it would cost a pretty penny to do it RIGHT. remember anyone can hacksaw there top off and call it a day.

The guy's name is Andre, and yes he did do a lot to restrengthen the chassis after cutting the roof off. He also did that in his garage at home. So mad props to him, oh and for making 503 whp on pump gas. That's a decent accomplishment on it's own.

Thanks alot for the pic because I think I would rather do that anyways but I don't think I would put a big cage on the inside. I think I would do most of the strengthining under it and I would do a small cage just for the extra room inside and stuff but thanks alot.

How much do you guys estimate that'd cost at a personal body shop, not at some dealership or huge insurance dealing with body shop for dents and paint, where they charge u out the ass for a bumper...

I'm gonna post in the photoshop forum and see if I can't get a pic of the widebody t-toped, I'm seriously considering doing it...

if you can do all of it yourself it isnt going to cost you that much. i think dre did it for 500 or somethin like that. but if your thinking about taking it to a shop, any shop, there gonna pay you out the ass. maybe not so much for the cutting of the roof, but for all the fabrication, sealing, and reinforcement its gonna cost you alot.
