symptoms of a bad TC?

what would the symptoms of a bad TC be? heres what ive replaced so far.

End clutches, Fluid flush and filter. manual shift box kit, silinoids...

Car revs up to about 2200 rpms then jumps into gear and jumps forward real hard. in both forwards gears and reverse. once you get it into gear tho and your driving, all the gears are there. When it shifts it feels like it revs up and if you let off it will shift into gear. I dont think the tranny is bad. Im pretty sure its the TC. any ideas?

Sounds like your clutch packs are going bad in your transmission. Time for that auto to 5speed swap

i hope its the TC tho, just for the sole reason that i am broke right now and cant afford the 5 speed swap.. im going to call ipt and see what they think

Hes a FWD i suppose by his listing so not transfer case.

If you hold the brake & rev it up, does the taco jump to 1.8-2k & gradualy
rise further ? Does the car rev from idle ok in neutral ?

i dont know ill try it tomorrow, but darnest thing happend tonight. i started the car up and put it in reverse and it did fine, all the power wasnt there but it slipped a little bit. but 5 seconds into it it felt like it popped out of gear and reved up to 2200 rpms then bam jumped back into gear. i dont know whats up with it. ill try the torque converter and a new pump this friday when i get my pay check

check your fluid level??

sounds like your loosing fluid pressure check your fluid level for sure. you may wanna drop your pan and check or replace your filter may be clogged, but honestly it sounds like lip seals in your clutch packs or your input clutchs are smoked

yes ive already checked all that and replaced the filter 2times, but hey no worries, i think i found a transmission for it in richmond 150 bucks! a wrecked eclipse and the guy is parting it out

Its got 165k and any good transmission man will tell you if you start rebuilding a new TC is a must

on another note, question for you guys, as i am still new to DSM will a 1g turbo fwd tranny work on my 95 TSI?


oh yea the tranny i found is off of a GSXT damnit! why did it have to be an awd tranny
