Full tank of E85, I thought I could get away with adjusting just the dead times but I was wrong, the car starts and immediately shuts off not throwing a enough e85 at it, I have tunerpro with chip burner in the car I dont know what settings am I missing?
Global Fuel is a setting in tunerpro I have heard off but I dont know how to alter it.
Can someone point me in the right direction with this.

fic 950cc
wally 255

the compensation is set, the math comes out to 678.5 still to lean to start, there is a value called Global Fuel in hex on the .bin I believe I just dont know the address and how to edit it. Thanks guys for helping me

The injector size that you set is the "global compensation"
Did the car run fine on pump gas with the same injectors?

yea car purred like a kitten on pump, then I was like ok I can change the injector sizing for e85 no problem right, 3 blocks after filling with e85 my afrs got leaner and leaner so I pulled over to make the changes, I did the car just starts then turns right off after. Like no changes have been made? Im certain I did my question is when we put e85 in what steps or changes need to be edited in tunerpro to go about this?

You need to adjust injector compensation, not deadtime. I would start out at around 670 (if you were at 950 on gas); I divide injector size by 1.4 for E85, and then round down to the nearest lower number.

right here is your answer guy couldnt have said it better

o and why it ran if it was your first time running e85 you where running a mix of 91-e85 and thats why it got leaner and leaner and then u died and your engine wont start because your running super lean

well in the transition of starting a full e85 there is some pump gas remaining, I did have to make it to the station somehow? Really I should of e85ed a 5 gallon gas can and did it at home. Ive been checking things out mostly injector compensation is the word on this any other input for running e85 using tunerpro?

Im kind of confused. Do you not know how to change injector compensation on tunerpro? If your setting it for 600cc injectors and its still not firing there has to be another issue all together that just happened to show up. Maybe you still need to add more fuel to get it started and not reading the compensation right.

Does your xdf have a coolent temp enrichment table? I had to enrich mine a bit to get the car to cold start. Does your logger log the coolant temp? It could just be a fluke that your coolant temp sensor decided to go out just now. Mine did right after I upgraded my injectors and it took me forever to think to look at my logger.

Car ran good on pump, 3 blocks from e85 fill it stated to sputter and afrs got leaner, coolant temp sensor is ok cause the car starts, soon as it starts its shuts off that same second, its just not getting enough fuel, I tested the fuel pump its working good, I did richen the afr tables, messed with dead times, anything that could richen it up I played with. The car has always been reliable i maintain it very well, I have no leaks of any sort. If there is something in the .bin hex that I need to alter is there anyone really good with tunerpro tuning? I appreciate any input.

I started tuning with tunerpro back before I switched to Jackal. All I had to do was mess with my injector compensation and used the standard deadtime for my injectors. Ran like a pro after that with the exception of cold starts. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? While I believe it to be fairly exagerated, supposedly the E85 has a cleaning effect and and can plug up your fuel filter with all the crud gas leaves in the lines. Wht does your afpr show your fuel pressure is?

yea man I was thinking the same thing so I run the fuel pump with the car off the fuel rail is seeing 45 psi, it has been years since I changed it. I should put a new one on only takes 10 mins. Everyone says they only changed inj compensation in tunerpro as I did too, im alittle baffled at this point. Ill keep it posted.

Did you compensate for the 45psi fuel pressure? Stock fuel pressure is around 38 I believe. I have the calculations somewhere, actually if you scroll down to post #7 you'll see where the discussion over injector size and fuel pressure kicks off. Probably not your problem but it couldn't hurt to make sure all the calculations are correct.

I looked over his .bin file and he has his deadtimes set at +330, which is normal starting point for fic 950cc. He also had them scaled at 690cc, which is good enough to at least get the car started for sure.

I switched his closed loop off at idle just to see how the car reacts, so as soon as he tries that out we'll see?

I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to change the fuel filter as possibly driving a few miles and running "cleaned" the tank and lines. I don't know about that quick unless the filter was already high mileage

ok check it out, replaced the fuel filter even though I was receiving enough fuel pressure to the rail, I looked in to the filter from the top and I seen a bunch of debris in there, meaning thats supposed to be the filtered side so I figured the injectors have little screens on them so I took those and blew them out it was hard to tell if there was debris on the screen as they taper down into the injector. I put it all back together, checked for leaks, and car started right up, wow e85 defiantly runs smooth. I would like to thank TooFast for checking over my .bin file and everyone else that invested there time in helping me. I hope this thread helps someone in the future.

Glad to see you got it running:thumb:. From what I seen on your file, it should have at least started and ran decent.

I just redid a file from scratch for him because I'm not a big fan of tuning the extended maps. I set it up to where I'd hope it will need minimal changes to a/f and timing to have it "tuned" on e85

I also noticed his file had the normal 3 changes to convert to 2g maf. I did the complete 5 changes to dial everything in correctly.

So i'm just waiting on him to try out this file I made for it and report back, but i'm thinking its gonna work real nice;)

Ahh the old tale of e85 cleaning out the fuel lines and clogging the fuel filter. Ive actually not seen it but people have always said to replace/clean the fuel filter after running it for a bit. I have been running the stock fuel filter on e85 for a few years with no issues. Glad you fixed it.
