Not.Freaking.Good.

That logger I just bought can't get here fast enough now. I'm a whole THREE pounds of boost over stock right now.

Just a lesson for all you kiddies who up the boost before you get a logger. Even a small bump can be bad.

Back to stock (or lower) for now.

:(

I just rewired the FP about 2 days ago. I'm starting to wonder if my charging system isn't doing it's job in keeping voltages up, and my FP was running MUCH lower than the normal crappy voltage it did on the stock wires.

Ugh.

Well, your ahead of the game here. There are alot of people that would just turn their head and keep doing what they were doing. You, however, at least know what must be done to preserve the life of your engine.

Just take it easy and keep the boost low until you can get your fuel system worked out and you will be just fine.

I believe it was the STP brand. I used it not too long ago, maybe 2 weeks ago when BP started switching their 93 octane around here to 91 octane.

was it octane booster or that nos in a bottle shit? ### my buddy used the Nos-in-a-can stuff and he took his turbo out and it turned it allllllllllllll white

I think when I put the 14b on tomarrow, I might leave my recirculation hose off till I get my logger, that way I'm sure to be getting a lot of fuel through there.

Thats a given. The first thing I did after seeing that was walk over to my car, pull the MBC out, and turn it all the way down. I'm not even sure I'm going to connect it again until I get my logger in.

Leaving the recirculation hose off will only affect the system temporarily when you shift/after the throttle has been closed, and some measured air is vented. It will not affect the mix when you need it (on boost)

+1 on fuel additives making for some funky coloration.

Is that stupid little ring that sits between the turbo and the manifold nessesary? It's the biggest PITA to keep level without it falling out on me all the time when I'm trying to bolt the turbo back in.

No, the turbo, nor manifold is ported, and no I don't have the tools to do that either, so thats why they're not..

I thought it was there just to make sure the stock gasket didn't blow out? At least thats what I read when I searched it (moments after I asked the question, sorry :().

I do have an aftermarket SS gasket in there now. Please PLEASE tell me I don't need to take the turbo back off.

I'd imagine you'll be fine. But there will be some turbulence created by the absense of the sealing ring that used to occupy the step on bothe the manifold and the turbine inlet.
You'd know right away if it was doing anything detrimental to airflow and I havent seen any threads from you pertaining to such so I'm sure you'll be fine.

I'm not sure there's anything wrong there. Reading deposits on the modern crap they sell out of the gasoline pumps is very iffy. Note the walls of the exhaust look normal, and the white parts are pieces that have virtually nothing to carry heat away from them.
