swapping heads between an auto and a manual

Does anyone know if you can swap heads with a manual to auto. i got a 92 awd talon auto with a blown motor(timing belt trouble) I am also rebuilding a motor for my 90 talon which is a manual. Would like to get the 92 running quicker and would like to put the heads from this motor on the 92. I know auto trans cars have the 13g turbo and 350 injectors. I also read that there may be some differences in cams or that the cpu adjusts the cams differently for automatics. I figure I can just swap them out, but I may be wrong. Any help appreciated.

The simple answer to your question... go head... whether it's manual or auto trans will not affect the motor.

The only difference is the cams, which can be swapped.

thanks for the input. i am going to switch them next week. see how it goes. if it runs rough i ll switch the cams. a little extra work, but hey, live and learn!!!!

The cam seals were shot so i ordered new ones and swapped the cams. Should be all back together soon. Damn o-ring coming from the USA, sucks getting parts up here in northern canada!!!!!!!

Ok so I tried to swap the cams from a 92 talon 6 bolt head to a 90 jdm head and i couldn't get the combo to work. The cams were way to tight in the 90 jdm head, I couldn't turn the cams with a wrench. I believe there must be differences between the to due to wear and such. So, I just put the jdm cams back in. According to my Hanes manuel, 90 to 92 auto have the same cams and in 93 they switched to different cams in the auto head. hope this will help others.

From what i understand the auto's cams were made for more torque than hp, and the manual was the other way around.
