Let me ask u guys somethin, i am getting coilovers installed...i kno u r supposed to get an allignment right after, if they finish late would it be a problem if i dont get one till monday? I am having them installed w/ shocks tomorrow...answers appreciated help as i am goin tomorrow morning
 
The alignment can wait till monday. It's not like the car is going to blow up if you don't do it right away. :rolleyes:

Depending on the amount of lowering, you will probably need to install camber kits.
 
i am not lowering it more than 2 inches so from what i have read i wont need the camber kits
 
I'd get the shims for the rear and leave the front alone...

Front Camber:
Short of removing the springs and bumpstops you cannot have too much -ve camber in the front of a 2G. Anything under -3* is fine as far as tyre wear is concerned, just make sure your toe is correct (i.e no more than 1/32" out).

Rear Camber:
It needs fixing no matter what ride height, from a handling perspective. Stock there is considerably more -ve in the rear than in the front - that needs reversing, less -ve in the rear than the front. The rear also gains more -ve camber faster than the front, which pushes the car into understeer at the limit, rather than loose.

The best solution is offset bushings front and rear, rotated in opposite directions, shortening the effective length in the front and increasing the effective length in the rear.

The practical solution is GM alignment shims and longer bolts in the rear, setting the rear -ve camber about .5 - .75 less than whatever the front ends up at.

Set the rear toe at zero, set the front toe to a hair out, just past zero.

You want less rear camber than the front. However the rear camber changes more when droped than the front so it gets shims. I followed these recomendations I like it. I have about .75 less rear camber. The drop, the spring rate and sway bar rate increases did alot but it really felt like a slot car after the alignment.
 
a) i kno it is recomended but is it absolutely needed?
b) Can i put camber kit's on after these shocks/coilovers r installed?
c) what if the front where to be dropped 2" n the back 1.5?

What about it? Based on the advice you've been given and probably have read, you probably won't need a camber kit in the rear. No way of knowing for sure until the car is on the alignment rack to see how far off it is (and whether its within stock range) after the suspension install.
 
this is the camber kit

becuase im not installin the coilovers, a shop is, n thanks i know i prolly won't need one, i will try n get an allignemnt on saturday too but if i can monday mornin rain or shine LOL
