supporting engine

I'm removing my balancer shaft and doing t-belt job. I have to remove the top drivers mount and oil pan. Would the engine be ok since I have to remove the oil pan and thus not able to support with a jack and pieces of wood?

No it wouldn't be OK - I'm sure there other ways but I actually temporarily reinstalled one Upper Driver side Mount while I had the Oil Pan & wood Blocks removed - Do yourself a favor & get the whole car supported HIGH on 4 good Jacks Stands - But you could be shuffling those supports around too as you pull Cross Members & such, BE CAREFUL - Several helpful Tech Articles on these Boards, including :

I have left the motor hang with that mount and the fount mount out i had no problems. just dont let it hang for long time.

aight thanks. Following the vfaqs on the b-shaft eliminator kit, I'll support the engine with a jack on the front crossmember that goes from left to right while the top driver mount and oil pan is off.
