I have an interesting problem with my Talon's sunroof, and I've already searched on multiple sites, so if someone has any idea's, please say. I've checked the fuse, and it seems good.(just to be sure, it's the bottom right one on the driver side box) Anyways, it all started when my aftermarket cd player started cutting out, then I noticed my interior lights and sunroof both stopped working. Well my sunroof worked a bit one morning, so I opened it up, not even thinking, and now it won't close. And also, it probably doesn't matter, but my CEL has came on, but as I said, I think that's a different issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Anyone have any idea's? I figured it got mad at me because I just bought a Stealth, so now this one hates me, heh. Seriously though, I've checked every fuse, and they're all good, the only thing else I have in mind is those 4 black box looking things under the hood on the driver side of the car that have wiring coming out of them, I have one that has nothing, is this normal? (sorry I don't know the exact name  )

Mine is touchy, but I haven't researched it enough yet. I found I can usually get it to move again if I push the back of the sunroof and wiggle it some, until then it feels like power is running through the switch. Sorry I can't be of more help.

What code did you throw? You need to get that read if you don't have a logger. Does the car run normally? If not, you could have an alternator issue, what with the lighting/radio issues you are having, too.

alright, new information. I thought it could have been my alternator, but nothing funny is going on other than this, car runs perfect(I won't rule it out though), and I reset my computer and the code hasn't popped up since, I think i may have had my gas cap on loose actually. Anyways, I put that head unit in my Stealth, and the same thing started happening, I was getting power cuts in my Stealth, and just about the same thing, but my stealth is a stick, so it was a little more dangerous and I started drifting backwards. Anyways, It didn't do anything to my Stealth, so I'm removing that head unit ASAP, but does anyone know what it could have ruined in my Talon by chance? btw thanks for the help, it's absolutely greatly appreciated.

If your sunroof doesn't move, and the fuses are good, you should probably start by locating the motor. Unplug it, and plug in a test lamp to the harness plug. Choose a test lamp that requires a few amps of current to light up properly. I like to use old halogen headlamp bulbs with a wiring pigtail on them. Operate the switch and see if you have bright light both on open and close. The polarity to the wires just reverses so it should light in either direction. If it lights brightly, you need to determine if the motor is shot, or if something is just interfereing with the mechanism. If it doesn't light, move to the switch next, and on down the line.

As for the radio: If it shorts out your car, pitch it!

So does the car still have these issues after the radio was removed?

And a new development, if you hook the sunroof straight to the battery, it works. And all together, it's my radio, heat/air gets no air at all, interior lights, and sunroof, any other idea's.

It's probably a fuse or a fusible link somewhere. If not that, you may have a bad ignition switch or even a bad wire somewhere. I could fix it if it was in front of me. You're going to need a wiring diagram. If you don't have one, try your local library. Some of them offer Alldata or Chiltons online and you can copy what you need on a flash drive.

Ps. It sounds like one of the "White wire" (battery feed) wires is dead. Did you check the fuses at the battery terminal and in the box under the hood?

I found out the true solution to this problem, I just sold the car heh.
Now I need another N/T in the Pittsburgh area for my dd.

i always sell my cars when i get a bad wire, copper prices are getting up there. it sounds like from the first post that by the cutting out, was a hot wire on your h/u grounding? which then melted some wire on the car? hows the stealth doing btw?

I'm not even sure man, I didn't dig into it too much, I figure it'd be better if I gave someone a complete car rather one that is torn apart. Luckily I sold it to someone who looked and sounded to be pretty mechanically inclined, so that's a plus. The Stealth is pretty amazing so far, quicker than I'd ever Imagine, it being a TT, and I got a pretty good price on it, 5 grand with 78,000 miles and it's a 91 in near mint condition, so I'm pretty happy with the find. :)
