Sunroof installation

I was wondering if it was possible to put a sunroof into a 95 eclipse. How hard is it if I get all the original parts, wires switches ect, has anyone done it. I know its possible but I want it to look as stock as possible.

If your gonna put a sunroof in it, get one that just pops off from a body shop. its only a couple hundred bucks and shouldn't leak. Stock dsm sunroofs leak like crazy

Yep pop up ones work just fine and are a lot easier to install.

I'll let my 95 talon and my 98 eclipse know too.
I'll add this to the list of things to fix.

*eliminate crankwalk
*fix all headlight hazing
*fix my leaking sunroof....

alright, I apologize for steroetyping all dsm sunroofs. Some leak, some dont. just like some 2g's crankwalk and some dont. Mine does leak. Its not bad unless its windy as hell or your in the carwash, but i'd still recommend a pop up one if your gonna have a shop do it.

It really depends on your fabrication skills. I have done it to my car. I've got alot of time into it as well. There's alot of hacking involved because 2g roofs are abit longer.

Your best bet if you really want a power sunroof is just to buy one and have a shop install it.

I put a power moonroof in my old car(zx2) and it didn't leak at all. A little smaller than a stock one but wasn't that hard. Hey my 2g's doesn't leak either. How werid.

my sunroof leaks as well, trying to find a good place to get an assembly and be re installed, but yeah, i know other people with DSMs that also leak. all they did was just seal theres.

Step 1: buy all stock sunroof parts. Switches, sunroof, headliner, everything.

Step 2: Install everything you can, like the headliner, switches, and whatever else.

Step 3: Drive to reputable shop, give them money and sunroof, comeback X amount of hours later with sunroof installed perfectly because the headliner already shows them where to cut, they just have to cut it.

Step 4: finish installing the rest of the stuff unless you just had them do it.

If your feeling really sweet or just lazy you can add/remove a few steps, like step

Step 1.5: Re upholster headliner in black

Step 0: Have shop do everything for a non OEM sunroof

Step 1.3: Buy all OEM parts and hand them to a shop for install

If you have leaks, clean out the drains. Sunroofs will leak, that's why there's a big gnarly gutter wrapped all the way around them.... with a drain at each corner. Run some heavy weedwhacker line down them to clear out the bug nests and bodies.
