Hi guys...I'm almost reddy to start working on my car. Is taking a lot of time to find a good workshop that wants to work on this car. Because i'm gonna pay some money only in the shipping and workhand...i need to keep everyting in the buget that i have right now. So...my question is...should or shouldn't buy a turbo like Fp3052 if u are running with a stock engine and the only updates are made on fuel..intake...exhaust but without update the internals from engine too. I'm asking this...beause i don't think i can rebuild my engine right now...and the turbo that i want is Fp 3052...or something similar...that can give me the opportunity to go higher when i can...without change the turbo...but still can run on a stock engine.

a 30R is fine on stock engine.. heck you could even use a 35R. I run a S258 in T3/0.70a/r on the stock motor and its slighly bigger than a 30r and i have no complaints.

Antoher question. I just order the dsmlink v3 and i'm a little bit confused about the MAF type i should use it. Should i stay with my stock 2g MAF...or buy a GM MAF and the GM MAF cable from ECMTuning for 75$ and using with dsmlink. As far as i know the GM is good for atmosphere blow off...and the stock one can handle about 400hp. In the same time...what kind of injectors should i get...i know u can run oversize injectors with dsmlink....but i don't know exactly how big. About my gols...i want to use the stock engine with the maximum safe power i can make...untill i'll be able to go up...and rebuild the engine. Anyway...i need an advice. Thanks.

I'm not sure about the MAF, On my build I plan on using my stock MAS.

The injectors will depend on your horse power goals, but I think some 650's or 750's will be enough.

Hi guys. I just sandblasted my car and i have some problems with the headlight support..it's rusted and i want to know if i should replace only the parts form that area or should i change all the radiator support. Here are some parts number i was thinking about.

Not so much help till now....but i think i'm gonna order just the parts because the radiator support is to big to be shipped international. I have a problem and maybe somebody will help me out. From this picture i have to order "61312R" but i get 2 part numbers MB959292 and MB959295. Which one is the right one? And also i got w/o abs and w/abs option so i'm a little bit confused. Also the part "62640" is coming with the hood latch support?

I personally wouldn't get a ball bearing turbo. They cannot be rebuilt so if it goes bad, you need a new one. Get a journal bearing turbo so it can be rebuilt if needed. Also, do you have a horsepower goal for this car?

The fp3052 is a good street turbo. All you need to do to make some more power safely is changing your headgasket to a mls and getting arp head studs. That should be good enough based on your goals.

Definitely i will get a ball bearing one...i want to be able to hit 500hp..maybe more...and 11's. I don't think i will get broke so fast...i hear only good things about Fp...this is one of the reason i'm going full Fp. Honestly i'm not so sure even right now what turbo to get...the 3052 or the HTA DSM 76(GT3076R) kind of a 3052 with HTA wheel. I went to some posts where some guys was saying this DSM76 is not good for a DD and one of them got the 3-th gear wheel broke because of this turbo. I have a brand new tranny...so i have to think about that too. So maybe the 3052 is enough for but i don't want to buy a turbo and then be sorry i didn't get a bigger one.

I have them on the list. I had so much problems with this car since i bought it...and i'm trying to have it like i want for more the one year. I so expensive for me to get all the parts and get them shipped. Last thing that happend was so frustrating... i got a full bodykit from ED and a carbon hood from Vis...and the bodykit is totally wrong...have to be rebuild or something...and i payed more then 1k $ with the transport and everything for nothing. Good thing is the carbon hood is fitting and is a piece of art.

There are plenty of journal bearing turbos that'll get you over 500hp. Have you looked at Borg Warner turbos? Or looked into the Holset turbo threads on this forum? There's lots of good info on Holset turbos here and they are cheap. I wouldn't go for 500hp on a stock 7 bolt engine. I know you said you plan to eventually rebuild it but I'd say 350 maybe 400hp would be a good goal for a stock 7 bolt engine. The 7 bolt cars have weaker connecting rods. 7 bolt engines are used on 92-99 cars. Some 92 cars were 6 bolt engines but they switched half way through the year. Anyway, if your new trans is stock, it might hold 500hp. How long it lasts will depend on your driving.

Not seeing ARP Head Studs and perhaps a higher end head gasket. Buy em or regret it when your head pops.

I have them on the list but i forgot to write it here. Oem multilayer or Cometic?

I had a look at Holset turbo and i can say is not an option. I want something that i can take it out from the box and put it on the car and be done with it...and i don't have to be worried about fitting or something else...because is hard for me to send back something to the seller for warranty or refund. And for sure i'm not gonna push more then 350-400 Hp or 20 Psi with my stock engine....after i'll rebuild it i want to be able to get as much as possible without buying other parts but not more then 550-600...i think is more then enough!

I have a question about pillowball mounts from Tein suspension. I want to buy the Tein Flex or SS-P so i can have it with EDFC but i found in Europe in UK another kit but without pillowball but still works with EDFC. I've read this thread ( http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/handling-tech/213838-tein-upper-pillow-mounts.html ) and some others and it seems pillowball should give you more stability then rubber mounts. But here is an answer from Tein Uk regarding their kit without pillowball mounts.

"There is any reason in particular, you wanted pillow
ball top mounts?

Tein UK did not include them in the design for cars configured
with wishbone / multi-link damper units all round.

We found that this feature was more than our customers needed for
street use. Pillowball top mounts on this type car, will only
give you the benefit of better linear movement of the damper,
eliminating a little vagueness in steering and feedback through
the chassis. Only sensitive drivers will feel the benefit over
the stiff rubber used in GSR56-B1SS3.

Additionally, pillow ball top mounts require additional
maintenance, as the spherical bearing will eventually need
replacing due to wear. With the stiffened rubber items, there
probably will never be a need to change them throughout the life
of the damper, and it will also be more quiet in its operation.

These are the reasons we have chosen rubber of spherical bearings
for this application."

Also it seems the UK version is more streetable. So i'm a little bit confused :hmm: Is it worth the extra money for pillowball or not...after this answer...i would say no.

I just got an answer from Fp about what would recommend to be a better setup for me a Fp 3052 or Fp Dsm76. They said would be better for me to go with Fp Dsm76(Gt 3076R) because of HTA wheel. What do you guys think?
