previously my type-s bov was loud enough to hear very easily. i finally got around to hooking up the boost controller and now its really quiet and more fluttering although the greddy boost gauge i have is reading nearly 1kg/cm (around 14psi). what has happened?

Do you have your MBC tapped into the BOVs' vaccum line? If so, remove it, and hook up your MBC to your compressor cover using a tap into it. Its a much more pure, better signal for your MBC to work from, and provided quicker response. Its probly your problem.

sorry i should have mentioned it an EBC but what you said still applies im sure. and yes i do. im a newb at this so where is this line you are talking about?

ok ill try that, hopefully my turbo has one of those nipples.

If not, do what I did. Remove the turbo and take off the compressor cover. Then drill a 11/32 hole in the compressor cover close to the IC outlet, then tap it w/ a 1/8 NPT tap about 1/2 way down. Then get a 1/8 NPT 90degree fitting w/ vacuum nipple on the other end and thread it into the cover. Thats it. You now have a new, better, boost contoller source!

sounds risky, scares me to be that destructive that close to sensitive fins...

Umm, your not close to sensitive fins at all if done correctly. Look at my pic, it shows how far away the nipple is from the fins. The tap is actually inside the "tube" that blows air into the IC. Take your turbo off, then take off the compressor cover too, and this way, they fins aren't even there to be broken. When its all done and tapped, install the compressor cover back on the turbo.

if you get really excited and have some free time, a pic from a better angle of where the tube is on the turbo would be cool thanks :thumb:

so i got that all situated but now the controller doesnt seem to have an effect on boost at all. i know i have the lines from the control right, and the line from the controller is tapped into the line going to my boost gauge. also wont boost to even 1kg/cm (about 14.7psi)
