Well what aren't you sure about? I may be a noob but I have been hookin' up stereos for some time. And how many watts is the amp and such. You wanna use 10. gauge wire for sytems only up to 200W. 8. gauge wire for your sytems reaching 600W and 4. Gauge to reach 1000W on your amp. And as far as I can see he has the all done already looks like you need to run your power wire on to ## battery and install the fuse in the link on the back of the box though usually your fuse is under your hood in case of fire. Looks like the speakers are hooked up and such. And then run your RCA cables to the back of your cd player.

What seems to be the problem?

It looks straight forward.

Right now it looks like your friend already hooked it up for you, as stated by taylor, just run a fused power cable to that nifty power cable splitter thats attached to the box. And run a ground wire. Then hook up your input wires from your deck.

I forgot to mention the remote wire, it looks like your friend left a little piece of blue wire to show you which one it is.

The connectors look different, but still the same usual deal.

I'm sure you know what to do if you don't have low level RCA inputs for the amp, and know all those mumbo jumbo controls and outputs on the amp. If not We'll explain as well.

sorry guys, im new at stereo systems, could anyone label what goes where on my photos? also, what does the blue remote wire mean and where does it go. I also already have 2 rca cable connected to my cd deck. do those go to the input on the amp?

any and all help is appreciated.

thanks,

The blue remote wire is what activates the amp to turn on when your deck does.

Since you do have a CD deck, look at the harness, there should clearly be a blue wire there. CONNECT/TAP that blue wire, to the little blue wire that your friend left for you, actually just remove that little piece and just run 1 single line.

Are those 2 rcas on your deck OUTPUT or INPUT? if they are output, yes connect that to the input on the amp.

If not, there are other ways, just let us know.

You can hook up that remote wire to any 12 volt power system. I hooked mine straight to the battery and then ran it through a switch so i can turn them off( sound laws). If you don't get full 12 volts( which sometimes happens) the amp won't turn on. Multi meter to check the voltage.

Make sure the positives to the subs are hooked up to the positive on the amp or that will suck the power out of your amp and it won't hit hard but the subs will still work(ditto with the negative wire). You use regular speaker wire for that( 16 gauge). I made the mistake of putting my fuse(which is ont eh main power supply) in my trunk so if my subs blow my fuse, my car will catch on fire. So make sure i put it about 6 inches(keep in front of fire wall) away from the battery. Make sure you have a strong ground with same size wire as the power input. I simply got an eye hook and hooked to one the bolt in the trunk. If you do all these thing you should be bumping in no time. Im at school right now and i can't open your picture's but i hope this will help you. any other Question p/m me or repost All the information in the post and all the others should help you enough.... Make sure if your deck has a setting to turn on your subs.. do it. RCAs go from the output and your deck to the input on your subs and it really don't matter which way(red or white)
good luck

so should i hook that blue wire up to any 12v source or the blue wire on my cd deck harness? im a little confused. sorry guys, im new at this stuff and trying to do it my self.

also, where does the ground wire go into the amp.....

okay, thats for the info on the remote wire. now im not sure where to plug in my rca cables to on my amp? i dont want to ruin my cd deck or start my car on fire.

some help on which jacks to connect to would be helpful.

thanks again dsmtuners....

We pretty much covered it all already.

viperlp01 gave you a great alternative to hook up the blue wire. It's a bit unorthodox, but still used depending on the type of setup you need.

We mentioned the RCAs several times in the posts above.

MAKE SURE THOSE RCAS FROM YOUR DECK IS NOT AN AUXILARY INPUT, but OUTPUT.

If it is an OUTPUT, connect it to the amp where it says "INPUT". Those other RCAs are so you can daisy chain, but thats an entirely different story.

That's it.

If those RCAs on your deck are not OUTPUT, then you will have to get an LOC (line-out-converter), as it seems like your amp does not have high level (speaker) inputs. But we'll discuss that if it applies to you.

okay guys, i have most everything done....im just confused on two things.....

first off im having trouble finding a place in the firewall to route my power wire. does anyone know the eastiest place on the eclipse 2g for this? Also on my amp im not sure where to connect the ground.

any help would be appreciated

As for the power wire, if you look under the dash on the passenger side, you will see a big grommet with a bunch of wires going through to the engine bay, use that. Then run it along the side by the door.

As for the ground, process of elimination, you used everything else, its the connection next to the power wire connection. As seen here in your very own picture:

Some will even go the distance and get a voltmeter, just to be sure.

Good luck.. seriously. :) If this doesn't finish your setup, perhaps you should check out a car audio shop, or ask a friend who is local to check out your install.

my amp is in my trunk. so i put my ground where my backseat bolts down to. i put a metal spacer in between the bolt and my ground cause the bolt had paint on it. it works fine. make sure its secured down tightly though. any movement and it could cause a sparks which could result in a fire.
