Edm,
I can't figure out what my problem is. When I drive my car hard for the first 5 minuets (once it reaches normal operating temps) it feels fast and smooth. Then after 5min it stutters and hesitates under boost, and is much slower. What could my problem be? I have a rebuilt engine, basically a stock TSi. I was thinking my BOV could be slightly open under boost (but I think that would cause me to have lower boost levels)

Thanks.

I did #1 and 2; I'm pretty sure I don't have an exhaust leak, don't feel it or smell it. I put in my old plug wires just to be sure it wasn't that. I still have the same problem.

After driving my car hard this afternoon, I could smell gas, not strong but it was there. I'm starting to think my problem isn't boost leak related. I'm so frustrated right now, everything has gone wrong with this car that could, I don't think I have a single original part left on this car. :notgood:

Problem fixed! I by-passed the TB coolant hose and my problem is gone. It must be the TB seals, and they leak when hot. Soon as I fix one problem I get another, My clutch makes a clicking sound, and I get a lot of resistance 1 inch from the floor.

Good find. I hate unresolved threads and I definitely ran out of ideas on this one. I believe the FIAV is what's leaking after the car warms up. According to this article, you're suppose to block off the FIAV and reroute the coolant lines. Read through it and make sure it was done right.

As for the clicking clutch, more details would be helpfull.

I also hate it when people don't say when their problem is fixed, now if someone uses the search button this thread may help them.
I saw that FIAV on vfaq.com, I don't really see a need to make the plate, I turned in the BISS a bit to compensate, idles fine.

Every time I press in my clutch I would get a lot of resistance 1 inch from the floor, If I went past that point I would hear a thump friction type sound sound, coming from the tranny. When I let the clutch out it makes a squeeking sound.
Please help, Thanks for all the help!

It's probably coming from the slave cylinder/pushrod/clutch fork area, get under the car while someone else press on the pedal and see if you can isolate it. I have the same exactly problem, so far it has not caused any shifting/engagement issues so I have been neglecting it. If you find out what it is, let me know.

My eclipse gsx doing the same thing once I let it sit for like 20 minutes I could get back in the car and drive it on boost fine until it does it again fuel cut showing 14 15 on the wide band. If I let the car sit again and wait it out till it cools off it'll run good again on boost until it gets back to normal temperature does it again engine temp@180 still haven't figured it out change the mass air flow there is no codes
