Stuck Needle on Greddy EGT Guage

After my alternator died on me, My needle on my 1yr old Greddy EGT Guage decided to slam al the way to the right without budging back after new alternator was slapped back in. The car's volts are back to normal and is holding charge great. My problem is getting the needle back to the left hand side of the guage. Can or does anyone know how to fix this stuck needle problem? its the 1200Celsius guage. Please help .

You could always try taking the gauge apart, but I would call GReddy or a distributer familiar with their products to see if thats a realistic way of fixing it.

yeah, i dont know where i would begin disassembling this guage. Maybe it comes apart who knows. But for 160.00 I'm hoping it will still work. I'm thinking the needle just needs to be pushed back. I'll check into it further. More insight would be helpful everyone.

Pull the gauge, hold it in your hand, and give your wrist a flick to get the needle to come back around.

the ring the encasses the glass around the gauge is made of a thin aluminum material. I took a flat head and lightly unpried the lip all the way around the guage until there was no lip to hug the guage, then it just slipped off with the glass casing. Viola just tapped the needle and it went back to 0. It just needed a little caressing. I hooked it all back up and she is good to go.
