What should I do? put a piece of metal and weld it to match the other side?
and yes, the car is a bit rusty.
Opinions and suggestions are more than welcome

Oh and BTW I have a question that is not related to the thread at all.. does the A/T transmission in the 96 spyder gs have a relay box or tcu?or both?if so where?

-Thanks

As a temparery fix I have fiber glassed a strut tower before. The better option that I have found is find a strut tower from another car and weld it into yours.

Fiberglass on steel that has a pretty tremendous load on it? Sounds like a terrible idea. Not only does fiberglass not bond to steel well at all but you might as well not even waste the money because it wont do anything.

The second part you said is so much better. OP, if it were me Id cut out the whole top (or all effected area) of the strut towers off your and a donor car and weld them in place.

Yeah, I agree. Fiberglass might work on a Kei car but that's about it.

I would pull it apart and either weld in a entire new tower or just patch the area (make sure all the rust is taken care of and your weld is solid if you go with the patch)..

If you want to be a little different (haven't seen it don'e on a DSM) you could weld in "bathtubs" on your towers. Check it out on google, the 240sx guys do it all the time (I did and it's not that hard, plus it looks kinda badass) but again make sure you have solid clean welds.

copy that guys, thanks.. I'll just get a donor car strut tower i've seen a few 2g talons/eclipse bodies laying arround going to try and see if they can let me cut a piece of them LOL but in the meantime i'll weld a piece of metal so it can hold a bit longer
