Strut bar fabrication

Hey guys
I was wondering if any of you have ever tried to fabricate their own strut tower bar. I have a few questions about it....is it just a peice of alluminum attatched to 2 strut tower brackets? If any one has attempted this please let me know. Also, if you have any opinion about this it would be greatly appreciated. BTW I have a 420a in a 97 Eclipse GS.

You can pick one up for as little as $49 now, I would just buy one.

just go to ebay and buy one there almost all the same you can get it for like 10-20 bucks. I bought a front strut bar for a deal that went sour and well I already have one so I just drilled some holes in it and slapped it on for my rear and well it works. so I semi fabbed one. but it is basically pointless to fab one when you can order it off ebay.

Ok thanks for thee advice. I hadnt checked ebay for them, but the $10-20 ones you mentioned, are they quality or just complete crap?

what would you expect for 10 bucks? most of them hold up alright though. you want something sturdy that won't flex or break.


as everything, you get what you pay for.

alright guys, it was just a little plan because I had some extra aluminum and too much time on my hands thanks for the help anyways tho.
