strange ticking noise between gear changes

hey guys... well my friend just bought a 99' eclipse GS (oz package) and its automatic... i noticed a problem when she would go into either drive or reverse, but not when she goes out of the gears (drive or reverse) ... this noise is a rapid clicking noise that lasts about 2 seconds then cuts off... the car shifts fine while driving, i was stummped without any ideas as to what the noise is... maybe you guys can help... ? thanks a lot guys ...

so it makes noise from park to drive? how about neutral to drive or the same to reverse?

only when it goes INTO reverse and drive... not any other gear, and not even out of those gears, just when it goes into them, and its only those two gears.... all the rest are fine...
