I have a 95 gst, and just fixed a whole bunch of problems it was having. And when I finally get it running good with no CEL, another problem occurs!

95% it runs fine and idles perfectly fine. But every now and then the idle will get stuck at 2krpms!

But if I tap the throttle a little bit it usually drops back down again.

Any ideas?

IM going to sell the car soon, and I dont want any minor issues that might scare away potential buyers.

Thanks alot!

I dont have a 2g but I would check your BISS screw it may be coming out a bit and thats why its starting to screw up your idle...if it starts surging then that is probably what it is but since it gets stuck...I dont know...but the screw is worth a shot....thats all I got.

Try removing your IAC motor, cleaning it, then replace it. Be careful not to lose the rubber o-ring that goes between it and the throttle body. If you have a multimeter you can also do a resistance test on it to see if it is going bad.
Also make sure that the throttle cable is not binding on anything.

I thought it might the ISC too, and so I tested it the resistance, and it was fine, but I didnt think to clean it. So ill try that! Thanks alot!!

Also ill check over the throttle cable.

well I cleaned the ISC, and it wasnt that dirty but it definitly made a difference.

FOr about 30 mins, it drove and idled perfectly fine, and then it started acting up again!!

When I cleaned, I just used some carb cleaner, and a rag. SHould I just clean it again and try to be more thurough?

It may be worth one more try if it seemed to help. Use automotive electric parts cleaner and a toothbrush. While your there it may be worthwhile to remove your TB elbow or UICP and clean out your TB. Hope it works.

well actually, a mounting tab broke off on the sensor when I was putting it back on!!

Down over torque it like i did!!

After replacing it, it idled more consistently but still a bit high, with the BISS screw adjusted almost all the way down.

But then I sold the car, so thanks for all your help!
