okay i just got a 97 gsx, a BIG upgrade from my 97 rs, now i just found that my gsx has a cd changer, so im thinking of installing my old stock stereo from my rs to my gsx, now i read somewhere that i can still keep my amp and subs if i get a Line Output Converter but will me gsx take the rs stereo?

It can be done. If the wire harness is the same then you can just plug it in. But if the radio/unit is different then the harness may not fit. You may need an aftermarket harness adapter and cutting and splicing of some wires.
The mounting brackets that I have seen have all been the same whether the radio is double DIN or smaller.

I highly recommend you spend a little extra and get a quality line level converter. From personal experience after I switched from a cheaper one to a Monster FX one the sound quality improved dramatically, no other changes were made at the time.

You will need a quality line level converter. If you have a semi-cheap amp that allows you to input regular inputs vs. the rca inputs do not use them. They suck.
