Stock shock + what Spring to get an 1" drop

i couldn't find any threads that talked about this well, i guess because this is more of a performance website... duh... anyways, Since i'm into motorcycles now i'd like to Only have a decently quick car with a decent ride. Nothing ruff so this is my search

+ the search fields don't let me search for 1" or 2g

I like the Stock ride however i'd like to lower the car an 1". Are there any springs that will do that w/o causing the ride suck? + i want 1" because i only want a slight drop and don't want to ### with the camber

Look into the eibach pro kit or tein H tech.
Your ride will obviously be a little stiffer but it shouldn't be too bad.

Btw, you'll probably still need to adjust your camber if you want your tires to wear evenly...

Camber doesn't affect tire wear to much, Toe In/Out does.

eibach pro kit = -1.3 inch front and both

Tein H tech doesnt work with the AWD 2G....

H&R OE Sport Springs looks like they are for 2wd and not AWD (or atleast everything i read said 2wd)



is the eibach pro kit my only option?!?!

I put the H&R Springs on my fiancee's 98 GSX with kyb gr2's. Looks great and man does it ride nice. On the other hand I have Pro Kits with KYB AGX's dropped it a bit more than 1.3" but I still love the way it looks. If I were you though, I love the way my fiancee's GSX looks. Thats why I put those H&R springs on ### one day it will be mine, muahahaha. Good Luck.

Drops one inch, can be used with stock dampers (koni yellow reccomended), works on FWD and AWD.

With the H&Rs, the car looks good, not lowered. Perfect.

thanks guys, i was doing research at work so i couldn't go indeapth and only saw them for 2wd, guess i'm going with H&R's. sweet. When i get the $$ later i'll upgrade shocks : ) one thing at a time


i'll be looking for a good deal but in case i miss it do you know of any cheap places to get them?

I switched from Prokit to the H&R OE Sports and am very happy. The Prokit was just too low for my taste (looked good but not the most practical for a DD).

Remember to specify that you want the "OE Sports". H&R also makes a "Sport" model which has a lower drop than the OE's.

I saw a few decent deals on eBay. I'll find the link for you and post back over the weekend. Make sure you get the "OE Sports" and not the "Sports" there is a difference.

That's the setup that I have. There is some harshness on rough roads but the handling is great. Better than the Prokit/Illumina combo I had on there before, IMO.

i wana change my ride back to a stock feeling as i moved to chicago...city streets are horrible...anyways i have eibach pro kits with cheap tokicos..and the ride sucks as dd.. and i ive almost scraped away my undercarriage.... i want something that rides great as a daily driver similiar stock feeling, doesn't wear out my car faster, but still gives it that sporty look and feel...

I actually have the Tokico Illuminas, not the yellows (didn't even know they made a yellow ). I am very happy with them.

However, I would be lying if I said that the ride comfort is good or similar to stock. The ride is harsh over the bumps but no worse than it was with the Prokit/Illumina. But I feel that the handling is noticeably better now. I think it may be because the OE Sports don't lower the car as much. Keeping the original suspension geometry a little bit closer to the way it was designed and intended to work while still increasing the spring rates and damping may be the reason. Makes it easier to get your alignment where you want it too.

I rarely scrape the underside of the car now and there is much less wallow now over undulating roads. Car feels tighter than it did with the Prokit.

Bottom line, for the price I think you get very good results and I have no problem recommending this combination to anyone.
