I went to pull my intake off tonight and something made me look at the end that actually attaches to my compressor housing. I noticed that inside my pipe there was a rubber connector piece. I pulled it out and it looks like just a filler piece between the intake and the turbo. The problem is that it seems a bit too large and is actually wrinkling a little and I know it's gotta be hurting my flow rate. My question is can I remove this piece and not worry about melting anything. I'll attach pics below.

I can get it to stuff in there, but it wants to wrinkle on me and when I first saw it, it was so bent up that it was blocking about 1/4 of my intake. It seems like it has the same I.D. as my intake pipe.

Ok thanks. My concern was that it had expanded enough that when I try to put it on first it wants to buckle in there and push down where the air is trying to flow. I'll just trim it so it will still fit tight without buckling.

Well I did the trimming on mine so that it fit in there nice and snug and also fit over the turbo and I can't believe the difference. The old butt dyno really notices the car pulling harder and accelerating smoother. I guess un blocking half the airway to your turbo will make a difference.:thumb:
