Ok, i just put on my new dejon intake and k&n filter and after i installed it all the bov seems really loud. I was thinking it was just because of the intake but it just seems like it's alot louder than it should be. I know it was cracked before i installed the intake and filter but the sound IS NOT the leak, it sounds exactly like a aftermarket bov should sound. Any ideas? I almost forgot, i double checked every coupler and clamp after install and again before posting this, everything is as tight as i can get it.

Hi,

Did you hook up the recirculation hose to the top of the BOV. The stock BOV/MAS setup is not suppose to make the swosh sound like a BOV that can be vented to atmosphere.

I don't doubt that you thoroughly checked all couplers and clamps after the install but it would still be wise to do a boost leak test. It is the only way to know for sure that you don't have any leaks. Personally I consider occasional leak tests part of my "routine" maintenance. Since I have a tester and air compressor I have friend's that will come to me to do the test. Amazing how many are surprised to find leaks they had no idea they had. Lots of gratification from seeing them get that little bit of performance and driveability back that they didn't truly realize they had lost.

I know this is not what you were originally asking about but it really is relevant any time you remove/replace part of your intake.:thumb:

I did hook it back up to the bov. i thought it was because of the intake but wanted to make sure. and the boost leak test wouldn't help after the intake install because the tester hooks up in place of the intake at the turbo. I was planning on doing one after my licp and uicp intalls though, just to be safe. Well thank you very much and i feel much better now. If anyone has other thoughts though, i will definitely entertain them.

You're absolutely right about the boost leak test not pertaining to this situation. Sometimes I am a little too quick in getting up on my "soapbox.":thumb:

It's all good Romeen i know how you feel with the whole getting to anxious thing:D Anyways, i double checked everything again and it's all tight as can be still so i'm settling on the notion that it definitely is just my intake that's giving me that sound. I just can't wait till i get my recirc adapter for my Greddy RS so i can put on my licp uicp and bov so that i can actually run without my bov leaking boost. that'll be a first for this car(damn previous owners who don't know what the heck they're doing with these cars).

yeah, i bought the RS at the same time as my UIC, LIC, and intake pipes. I'm just waiting on the recirc adapter to come in because SBR orders them from Greddy so it takes alot longer. Almost a week after i got the intake and intercooler pipes and i'm still waiting on that damn adapter for the bov.
