stock honda radiator?

I need a half radiator, kind of in a bind. Will a factory half radiator from a 97 honda work? like the one from autozone, oreillys etc?

If not which one will?

I ran one of the performance Honda ones on a trailer queen talon I used to have and didn't have any problems but me and a buddy of mine tried on his daily driver and it ran a bit too hot it never over heated but just always ran hotter till we ultimately yanked it and made a mitsu core fit.... why do you have to run a half core?
