I am about to pick up an "EVO 3" head so the guy tells me, and I'm kinda skeptic about it. is there any difference? Besides Cam lif/durations and Valve size? or are they all the same? Also he is including Cyclone Manifold with my purchase. Any healp would be great.

Not 100% sure, but I think that the EVO 3 head has smaller ports than a 1g head, I think it has the same head ports as a 2g head.

If it has a cyclone intake it's not an EVOIII head which is the same as a 2G 7-bolt head. It's probably from a JDM Galant VR4 or EVOI or II. The cyclone intake manifold is useless.

so... it might just be a jdm gvr4 head? ::sighs:: oh well I got it for free any way. And why are cyclones so looked down upon?, I mean I understand how it works and all and I think the variable length intake runners are a good idea for lo/mid/high end torque. But thats just my opinion

My understanding is they're worth it if you ahve the time, money and in-depth knowledge. Otherwise its just too hard to get running the way it should, negating any benefits.

Your car lacks the proper equipment to operate the Cyclone manifold. Some people have had luck getting them to work and other haven't. The Evo3 head is identical to the 2G DSM head in regards to port size. I am not sure about the cams, they may be different. The intake manifold from the Evo3 is 3 inches shorter than the US DSM manifold and has a 60mm plenum to match a 1G TB. I love mine. :thumb:

I might just be taking a risk here but I ordered a DSMChips Stage 3 chip w/ a cyclone controller and right now I'm doing the purge solenoid thing, I'll let every body know how it works out. And yeah you guys are right it is too time consuming, I had to grind down part of my AC compressor bracket to make it fit. Cyclone+AC :thumb: hopefully it all works
