STM Fuel Pump Rewire kit

In the kit theres the 10 gauge feed wire from the battery and then theres the harness that plugs into the relay. The instructions say that the blue wire from the harness is the feed wire, but it's a different gauge wire. So my question is, can I solder the 10 gauge red feed wire to the smaller blue wire without anything going wrong when I turn the car on?
