montreal,
What is the stiffest motor mounts I can find (buy) and where to buy them?
I don't want to do any welding and I don't care about vibration.
The only thing I want is power to the ground without break my car from mount too stiff.

Thanks

Prothane makes a good insert kit. Not a true replacement mount, but they take the place of the OEM rubber part, they're much stiffer, and I hear they cut down on wheel hop.

Prothane mounts are the stiffest you'll get in your situation. If you want though, there is a guide somewhere on this site that puts in sheet metal instead of the rubber into the mounts to make it 100% stiff, so all the vibrations go to the car.

i know on 1gs you have to have 3 of the motor mounts pressed out by a machine shop. i dont know if its the same on 2gs or not.

on 2g its the sides that are complete, the front and rear are inserts only. For 95% of people prothanes are sufficent, and work awesome. I am doing the prothane suspension mounts right now along with some decent shocks and springs. Since I have not modified a single piece of my suspension. So I am hopeing for a better time at the track this nextyear. Only wish the elevation was not so high here. I want a 12.5 on the BT28 at 4200 ft. elevation.

Does someone know why they make complete replacement for sides and only inserts for front and rear considering that the front and rear are the more stressed during acceleration and therefore need to be stiffer. WTF

Make no sense to me.

urethane mounts arent too expensive.....its just the labor that is going to eat you whole like an egg role.

Hummmm egg rolls :coy:

I'm going to do the job myself anyway. The tranny is already out of the car and motor mounts in hands. :rocks:
