i haven't heard of them being made for the eclipse but there is a possibility if you look hard enough. if you were really dead set on doing this you could allways go to a junkyard pick up a spare steering wheel cover and fiberglass/carbon fiber it. you could do 1-3 pods too.

Ya DSMTurbos is exactly what I'm lookin for.. I guess an in depth google search is my only option. Thanks guys

Or maybe a carbon fiber one with the gauge centered. I've seen them before but never on an eclipse. Any help would be appreciated.

There was a guy on herea while back , with a website for custom carbonfiber pieces for eclipses, and he had those for our cars, If I recall correctly his name was Leo, and the website was carbonwerks,or carbontrix.com or something like that.

This is all correct information, aside from the fact that Leo posted that he was getting out of the business due to family matters nearly a year ago.

I recall the guy who offered his service via e-bay, and at an astonishing price at that, although after our initial contact he never responded to e-mail again. ** I have those pictures on my laptop at home if anyone would like me to post those. **

In my case, I found the best thing to do for me (wanted a steering wheel pod for me w/b) was to find a paint and body guy who made one from fiberglass. Looks awesome ... I can post pictures, again, if anyone would like once I return home.

Hopefully this helps,

Does anyone know where i can find a gauge pod like this for a DSM:

single gauge, centered, steering column mount.

All I can find for DSMs are some that have dual pods or single pods off-center...

Why not just get the dual pod one? You might be able to make use of the second pod later on?

They really need to make steering colum ones for 1g's. ####!

I dont think you could get those for our car since i been looking for dual steering pod for my 95. Only problem is they only make dual for 52mm not 60mm. But defi make a gauge holder for one.

Defi carry these so if your interested you know where to get them. I'll probaly end up getting a set so i could mounth a gauge on the steering.

i dont want to do dual pods because i plan to use the bezel instrument cluster for 2 other gauges. the dual pods would block these.

i think i might go with someone elses suggestion of just mounging a universal gauge pod on the steering wheel.

just surprising no ones makes a gauge pod ..

is there a how-to on this or anything, becuase im sort of ucomfortable destroying my steering column plastic cover when i haven't seen anyone else do this or their finished product.

which one are you talking about?? the fiberglass one? or the one i posted?

I can do a fiberglass one for you if interested... it's not that bad. check my www for some "how-to's" on doing custom stuff like that. might give you some confidence/inspiration... or just scare you off of doing it :)

On, ive been investigating fibergalssing and how i would do this. And i am confident i could make a nice column guage pod, but making it look oem-ish would be hard. I mean, i could paint it black, but the surrounding plastic is textured and would look totally different. Does anyone have any creative ideas to make it fit in with the rest of the car and lok professional? Thanks

Nothing that'd be simple. The home "factory" way would be to take latex impressions from the surface you're trying to duplicate, and then use that along with releasing agent in a mold to form the surface of the casting. It'd be expensive, messy, and probably a rank failure for the first four tries.
Better to just finish it the way custom and low-volume car builders do, and just use wrinkle paint on the top and bottom. Like Ferrari, for instance.

Or just order the ATI ePod. If you have a 2g that is. I would like to see someone do something similar to that but make it so you can put your turbo timer on the steering colomn as well. I tried it once with just fiberglass and resine and as Defiant said, it took about 3 tries. Make sure to practice good and use quality stuff when going it. Sounds like a good idea.
