I just finished an automatic to manual transmission swap and I'm having trouble getting the starter to crank.
Here are the steps that I have performed:
- I have soldered leads (5) and (8) together from the A101 plug, as well as the various combinations to achieve PARK or NEUTRAL as shown below:
Not mine, but from a fellow forum member:
- I have disconnected all the plugs running to the factory TCU and have removed the TCU.
- I have made sure that the starter is properly grounded to the transmission by grounding the ground wire located on the harness. The ground wire is now bolted onto the transmission; this bolt also bolts the starter to the transmission.
- I have made sure that the 2 wires (S) and (B) are properly connected to the starter, as shown below:
- I have checked that the starter works by hooking the terminals of the starter up to jumper cable leads and to a battery.
- I have made sure that the stock wiring harness of the AT was not damaged during the transmission swap.
- I have wired the reverse light up by splicing and soldering the (7) and (8) leads (A101 plug) up to a donor reverse light plug off of a manual transmission car.
- My MFI system works, as when I turn to "START" my fuel pump whirrs and my injectors spray.
- I have checked my MOTOR fuse under the hood, no fuses blown.
- My battery is full, as I have a charging system and an external rechargeble jumper battery.
Below are some diagrams that I have used in my effort to solve this problem. Copy/Paste as the diagrams are quite large.

I at my wits' end and am out of ideas, as my car started perfectly everytime prior to my 5-speed swap. If anybody has any insight and would like to share your thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it.
