after doing my 6bolt swap i noticed that i put the wrong starter plate on. i was wondering if anyone has tried removing this without pulling the motor or trans? i was thinking maybe i could just unbolt the trans and pry it apart from the motor. would this give me enough room to remove the plate and replace it with the correct one? This seems to be possible as the plate is a half circle shape and looks like it could just pull straight up over the trans shaft. let me know if you have done this or heard of someone else doing it. thanks

thanks guys. didn't even think about the clutch clearance being an issue. crap. well im gonna try ellongating the hole first with a dremel and using extra long starter bolts with a nut on the other side for extra strength. if this cant hold the starter in place properly i will do the correct fix. thanks. wish i would have had the correct one to start with. i did a auto to manual swap along with a 6bolt swap at the same time. messed me up. its cool though

No dont even bother trying to 'fix it'. You HAVE to pull the tranny AND the fly wheel. Do it right, or dont do it. The starter bolt dont line up because the starter sits at a different pitch on the shields. Itll still have issues if you simply bore the bolt hole.
