starter mounting issue

So heres my whole story:
My car slowly stopped starting. Replaced the battery, same thing. Since it push starts fine, so I get a new starter. I get in there and the bottom bolt is twisted off and the top one just isnt there. I cut out the old starter, the bolt comes out without me doing anything and didnt see when or where it disappeared to. Anyways, order new bolts from Mitsu and they thread on the starter fine. I go in there to mount the new one and these bolts slide in and out of the mounting holes on the car like nothing. WTF? I am at a loss.....

Well, I'm going to spare you. Hopefully you won't have to endure the horse laugh routine. They go through the bell housing and thread into the starter.

Not quite as bad as the time I tried to "unbolt" the bottom of my fuel filter, rather than the big bolt RIGHT BELOW IT.

Haha, oh man, I feel stupid but hey I'd rather feel stupid and have a running car (which it is now) then be right but no car. But just so its not AS BAD, I was excited that my car would be running today and was tryin it backwards but the previous bolt was twisted off and the other was missing. Thanks for correcting me!
