2G Starter issue

I am having a big issue with the starter. I turn the key to crank it and all i hear is the fuel pump priming, the starter is making no sounds. It is a brand new starter. I checked to make sure it was getting power. There is 12v power. There is a little black switch that also plugs into the starter. I checked it to make sure it was getting power when i was cranking it. It is not. I cannot figure out why this switch wouldn't be getting power. What are the reasons why? I have my clutch switch unplugged so i dont need to have it in to start it. Any help would be amazing.

Did you hear clicking from the solenoid? Have you tried to jump the starter or have it bench tested yet?
possible solenoid problem, or trace back from the wire back for a circuit problem.

Does it get hot after you try and crank it? If so it's fried.
