OK GUys I am planning on buying one of these kitsss STAR STG II & TSI EXTREME TURBO KIT....but I am having a hard time deciding between the 2......B/C the Tsi kit has injectors and comp upgrade...but the star stg II has a very beautiful turbonetic t3/tO4B turbo........also I know the garret t25 w the tsi kit is smaller but does it make that much diff......plz hEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPP MMMMMMMEEEEEEEE GUYS!!!!!!!! GIVE DETAILED REASONS and if you have turbo knowledge teach me young GRASS HOPPA" :dsm:

http://www.turbo-kits.com/eclipse_turbo_kits.html <------------to vue the diff kits

OMG....a t-25???? HAHAHAHAHA....youll be so pissed if u get that turbo...thats the stock turbo on the 2g turbo eclipse (if u didnt know)....search the general/newbie forum for "t-25 performance" and see how many people bag on that turbo...

its a TINY turbo and you will be very dissapointed if you go for that kit...

my suggestion.....get the star stage 2 kit and buy some fuel injectors and an SAFC2 and youll be set with a bad ass garret t3/t4 turbo that can take you into the 11's (with the right supporting mods and bottom end)

Go with the star or hahn kit. I have the star and love it. That other kit looks like a POS and the turbo is small and not worth a damn. just my .02

Dude I'm intrested.....bout ur staar stgII kit.....is it great ...how much si u runnin...estimated hp u have now all that bull honkey ...cuz i have been lookn at the star kit for a pretty long time now.. :thumb: :dsm:

Very nice setup I went to ur site ....how much extra was the greddy type s BOV and since i've only heard the apexi twin chamber and hks sssq...How does it sound...and that turbo w/the turbonetics t symbol in new turbo(crown bootle vs. DP can) ....which is that the star kit turbo or somthin else? B/C I am 99% sure im going to buy thstr stg 2

Yeah I love my kit. It makes a huge difference. I dynoed my car a couple months ago with my stock clutch in it which was apparently slipping VERY BAD because the next day It went out while normal driving. I was also running lean when i dyno'd due to my sfmu not being adjusted correctly since i upped my boost to 8psi right before i ran. I got one pull on the dyno and detonated at 6200rpms. I managed a 208hp and 182tq which wasnt too bad but i'm sure it'd pull more now that i've done some tuning.
The turbo in the pic with the dr. pepper can was my old turbo that came with my NER turbokit (well half of it) This kit was sold to people on 2gnt and the guy selling it shaun frank ran off with everyones money saying a bunch of bs about his shop catching fire. me and one other guy got parts for our kits since we paid first. I sold what I got from him tho.
The star turbo is the one pictured with the crown bottle. they are both t3/t4s, the star i have is a e trim and the NER one was a S-trim.
The greddy type-s was left over from my NER stuff that i didnt sell so I put it on my star kit because the star piping is already flanged for the type-s. Mine sounds a little like the ssq bov i'd say. I can send you vids of it if you like.
You can check out my car domain site if you havent already to see more pics, etc... Holla at me if you have any more Qs

The t-25 would be a good turbo for a stock internal 420a. Quick response, and able to boost without replacing internals.

If you live by the theory something is better than nothing maybe. The T-25 only works well when it's full trim like on the SR20DET. Otherwise it's crap. You would be better off going with the HRC 16G that way you could up the boost when you upgrade the motor.

STAR!! I just got the Star Stage 2. Awesome kit! Not a easy install though. Nothing seemed to fit right. Downpipe was a nightmare. But the power was worth the trouble!

I'm referring to stock internals though. After 8psi you're taking a risk on the 16g, but I'm sure you could go higher on the t-25 seeing as how it flows less.

so on a non turbo car you can put a stock turbo with no modifications to the internals im hearing that correctly if so what kind of boost do stock runs.

I don't see whats so funny? A t-25 would be good for his car. The t-25 starts to loose efficeny at around 15psi and i doubt he'll be running that much without a rebuild. If he doesnt plan on rebuilding/going past 10lbs or so the t25 would be fine. Think before you post.

A t-25 wont make as much hp as a bigger turbo. So yes I still say go with the Star or Hahn kit but im biased and say star. Even tho hahn just came out with their 8 injector portfueler and 3 inch eliminator downpipe.

And to the above post it sounds like you are saying a t-25 will just bolt up to the nonturbo motor which is a negative. You can get a custom manifold made that would work with it but then again you dont wanna do that you want a bigger turbo!!!! IMO

the 16G is a good turbo, the T3/T04 is a bloody amazing turbo.
If you are sticking with stock internals and don't plan to ever upgrade, 16G all the way
If you are going to build the bottom end and go nuts, take the T3/T04 since it will take you all the way up to 450 horsepower and it still have very good response.

I'm well aware the turbo wont bolt up to the manifold, i've been building/racing these cars for a while..

Brynden did

built 2.6 bored and stroked 420A 150% kick ass with direct port nitrous and all the other good stuff. Im pissed he sold the car to be honest with ya

Oh, I didnt know he actually dyno'ed it, or I would have included him. What kind of numbers did he put down?

I justed deleted everything I typed, so this is attempt #2.

roll your eyes elsewhere, you are under informed. ARD did it & raising the BSflag is just shows how short sighted and limited your views of DSMs really is.

Brynden dynoed at 304hp/313 tq before tuning and without pushing the engine hard.

Im sure tuned it came in the low to mid 400 range not including spray, but I dont think he dynoed it again before selling it.

Sorry if it looked like that was to you. That t-25 wont bolt to the non turbo was to the guy above your post.

I dunno what Brynden put down but i know of some other guys on 2gnt making hp in the mid to high 300s and I know Super20g on there with the Hahnstage 5 with nitrous should be making 400+. We might see more from brynden's car after all tho. He sold it to whodatt on 2gnt. It was at the shootout last weekend.

ATleast give me this much since I'm new to "BOOSTING"......But whether it's a t25,t28.t4.......or even a MASSIVE T66....8 psi is 8 psi .....so if i would ONLY run 8 psi would it make a difference whether it's from a t25--or a t4??????

AFAIK the smaller turbos lose their thermal efficiancy (sp?) when you push 18 psi on a 14B you making less power then if you pushed 14 psi, since the air temp is higher then at a lower PSI setting.

As a 420A owner I can say that a smaller turbo pushing 8 psi is better then a bigger turbo pushing 8 psi because you reduce turbo lag and things of that nature. but if you plan on building up the engine, why buy a smaller turbo then upgrade if you can just get the bigger one from the start.

The HAHN kit comes with a 16G which is pretty much ideal for the standard turbo'ed 420A, but if all you can afford is a 14B then get it. I think the flanges are diff on a 14b and a 16G , I wouldnt swear to it though.
