Stalling then hard to start back up

i have a fidanza flywheel and my car tends to stall when i drop into neutral too fast and i've heard that is normal. there were two recent incidents where i stalled from this recently and my car would not start up. all i could hear is a tapping noise and it took a few mins of my cranking to get the motor to fire up and everything was fine again. the car starts up fine if i don't stall. is this a starter problem or maybe crankwalk?

has it always done this since the fidanza flywheel install?

i bought the car with the fidanza flywheel already in. it has always stalled if i dropped it into neutral at higher rpms but never had a problem starting afterwards
