1G Stalling problem

After getting my car back from my engine rebuild the car has a stalling problem. When I'm slowing down to stop and I press the clutch in during slow down the rpm drop to low and the car stalls. I can stop it by putting it in neutral and giving it some gas as i coast to a stop. If i can get the car to stop with out stalling it will idle fine. It also idles just fine on start up. if I'm not being clear just let me know. Thanks for any help.

Have you checked BISS is set correctly? Idle position switch working? I would start there.

OK i checked my idle switch and TPS adjustment with ecmlink it was set up correctly already. I will fiddle with the BISS tomorrow. I read the vfaq already and was wondering if I really need to ground those two wires or can I start by just adjusting the screw first. Wondering because I don't have any alligator clips to ground like it wants you to in the vfaq.

You can ground everything you need through ECMLINK, no need for the clips.

With ECMLink, DO NOT ground the diagnostic or timing pins, either with a jumper wire or with the checkboxes in ECMLink, when setting the ISCPosition.

Set your desired idle speed on the RPM/TPS tab. Make sure that your idle switch is working (it should read "1" at idle). The ECU will not try to adjust idle speed without a working idle switch. Let the car fully warm up (at least 190*F).

Adjust your BISS screw until ISCPosition reads "30" at warm idle. ISCPosition can be a little slow to change, particularly in the downward direction, so give it a few minutes to react.

The Vfaq method of setting idle speed by grounding the diagnostic pin is for people who cannot access ISCPosition.

If your BISS is way off it's easier to ground the pins and get the idle in the ball park, then unground the pins and fine tune the BISS adjustment. But if the ISCPOSITION is close, you're method is easier.

i know there is prob a simple answer to this but how do you pull up your ISCPosition in dsmlink?

You have to add it to your Captured Values and Displayed Values.

Pull up a log and click "edit" in the top left corner and click on Captured Values. You must be connected to the car to do this. After you add ISCPosition to your Captured Values you can add it to your Displayed Values.

ok thanks for you help jim. I got it displayed and set it seems to bounce around some from like 24-33 it that ok or is that signs of another problem? Thanks for your help

So i took the car out of a spin and the problem is 90% fixed. Out of 15 full stops the call stalled 3 times. Is there anything else any one recommends to try or should i work at getting the ISCPosition to stay at a closer to a constant 30?
