i have a set of ferrea 1mm oversized stainless steele valves i was just wondering are they really needed? if not at what point would i need them? the reason i am asking is this machine shop wants 280.00 to cut and install them in my ported head!

Are you aching to shave a .10 or .20 seconds off your ET?

If not work on full seconds off your E.T.

1mm oversize. Get out a ruler and ask yourself.

"Am I flowing enough air to need one more MM?"

Do you have a 20G or better?

T3/T4 maybe?

Then NO.

Port your 14B or 16g or whatever for more power that doesn't hit the wallet so hard.

Get into the expensive end of head work when you have exhausted other avenues to make power.

You are also probably looking at $16 a valve.

i already have the valves i have had them for quite some time. i bought a ported and polished head paid good money for it too this head looks good its has the stock valves in it. so i said to myself i can just used the stock valves already in the head and just leave it at that but before i finalized my decision i just wanted to bounce the idea off on you guys! i think i am just going to sell the ones i have, install my crowers springs and titanium retainers because all i am looking for in the hp range is right at 300 even and at the track just inside of 12sec 12.9 would be good for me. i have a pretty good set up right now. what i was asking, i know the valves will flow better and hold up to better heat, i was asking was it worth the 280.00 additional dollars, seeing that i dont have that amount right now, to have them installed thats all i was asking sometimes we all know the answers to our own question it just makes us feel better when you get some input from those who have been there and done that.
