So my lowish mile stage 2 competition clutch is slipping after a hard launch. Clutch has less then 4k miles . I inspected the clutch less then 1k miles ago swapping long block and switching to a small 16g. Long story short i finially dialed in the tune e85 20 psi. 200ish miles since change. Did a hard launch and car did not move but maybe 2 feet. No loud bang or noises. Clutch slips at anything over 20% throttle in 1st-4th 5th it holds even in boost at low speeds 50mph on the way home. I have not had time to remove the inspection cover yet. I will be pulling the trans friday to inspec. Any ideas or has anyone simular issue ?

I had a look at a picture of a Stage 2 competition clutch. Is it like this one?

I have run a sprung centre 5 puck brass button clutch in a four cylinder n/a with 110 hp and a solid 5 brass button clutch in my VR4 Turbo Rally car that has 235 hp, 8-12 launches per event 5-6 events per year and I get three years out of a clutch. Hard launches on gravel though. For my use a solid brass button clutch is best.
Cheers

I actually had a problem similar to yours where my low mileage clutch started slipping. It was the flywheels fault and i ended up having to get a new clutch and flywheel. The clutch was destroyed

G'day I hope you gave the flywheel a good thrashing with a birch branch..LOL

Resolved

Blew the center diferential spider gears. Welded the center dif and installed a SBC SS-TZ.
