I ran into a problem when mounting my T4 that when mounted the exit elbow will not clear the crossmember completely. Luckily it clears the mount, but collides with the crossmember at the edge. I've already cut deeply into the radius of the bend of the pipe and at this point removing anymore will make it impossible to install a flange. I'm curious if I notch out a 1 inch by 2 inch rectangle along the edge if it would have any affects on the stability of the drivetrain in the car. I've already replaced all the mounts in the car with solid mounts so hopefully that will help a bit. Also, would it be better to instead shave off the top layer of the crossmember as its two fused together pieces?
