I have a squeaking noise coming from my front driver side suspension. I can hear it when I moving at slow speeds going over bumps or holes. I can also achieve the noise by pushing down on the car. It sounds like it's coming from the upper part of the suspension so I don't believe it to be the lower control arm, which would indicate a ball joint issue. Do you think it's the strut on its way out? I just noticed this after replacing both CV axles, so maybe something happened during the replacement? I've yet to jack the car up, when I do what exactly should I be looking for?

chances are its a strut / shock problem, that parts gonna move around more than anything in your front end over a bump ya know?

Do your ball joint boots look like they are low on grease? if they are and the sound seems to be coming from the upped or lower ball joints, you could poke a very small hole in the boot and stray a little PB blaster in there to see if the noise goes away. if that's the cause, you could just temporarily fill it with grease with a needle fitting until you can replace the joint.
