im pretty sure this has been asked before but i couldnt find a straight answer now i was gonna take my 4g64 out n build it up n do the head swap n all. but what i wanted to know was if i get the jdm 4g63 engine complete with tranny and ecu n all that good stuff what would i need. or is it a pain in the ass just like the gs/rs swap do i need to do ne custom fabrication? or can i just use motor mounts from the jdm engine??? can some 1 plz help me out thanks

naw i dont wanna do the hybrid till later i wanna fully build that later on but in the mean time just totally swap to the turbo engine thats what i want to do is it possible or does it require alot of work for the entire swap. :)

I'm bringing this back because I've never gotten a straight answer on this. I've heard of people trying to swap a 4G63 into a 3G 4G64 bay. I would assume it would be similar, no?

from what i have read yea its possible to do depending on the motor if its s 2g 4g63t its a simple bolt in if its the 1g its similar the same as putting it in a turbo model the mount needs to be cut im assuming is all. if im wrong im sorry but thats wha ive gotten so far n

Simple bolt in? Hmmm, so if I found a wrecked 2G with the 4G63T I can just pull it out and pop it in the spyder with not alot of effort? What about the tranny, could it handle it? And the turbo and such would all work fine? This sounds too easy.

its the wiring and ecu that make it difficult. could just use the methods that are in the link above though.

It just seems like alot of instant power for not too much price. I see no reason not to do it. There's got to be a catch, there's always a catch, hehe.

not really. you will run into the probs of a normal 6bolt swap b/c you have a 7blot 4g64. with that being said if the tranny cant take it you could put a turbo one in. i think the hardest part would be making turbo sensors work.

Yeah, I know nothing about that. I would assume I'd probably swap the engine and tranny and exhaust out of a turbo 2G and sounds like if I have some one competent do it, it'll work. I'm going to look into this some more.

yea the wiring n ecu really but i know a place i can pay n get the jdm motor with ecu for like a lil over a 1g. im not sure if the tranny bolts up though havent got ne info on that just yet but i hope so less money for me to spend on a tranny jus get the motor n have some fun till im ready for the hybrid since thats gonna cost more than jus buying the engine :D

Let me know about that. I'm interested in this. I want to go turbo, but don't have alot of $$ right now, so if I can just swap it all it'll be easier than accumulating all the parts i"d need to turbo my 4g64

iight no prob. i thought i was the only non turbo spyder not many that ive run accross on here. when i first got that car i was like man this sucks didnt know i could just swap the motor. was misled n was thinking i had a 420a then when i found out i was happy again. do u know ne thing about the 4g64 c-walking?? cause ive read n no clear answer some have been saying yes n some saying no.

People have said it can happen, but I haven't seen it on any yet.

i wanna know has ne 1 do this swap already or heard of ne 1 doing this swap. that would probably be great help if some1 has done it

 Why do people keep posting this? This does not answer the question, that's for the head swap, not the engine swap. A bit different.

What we want to know is, is it possible to swap the entire 4G64 engine for an entire 4G63T with turbo.

exactly ppl keep posting that up it doesnt help me what so ever in wha im asking. i know thats there if u wanna do the hybrid but not the complete swap

then engine should bolt right in. its a 4g64. i assume that its just a bored out and stroked 4g63. especially how a lot of stuff for the gst will bolt right up to your cars like a downpipe(that right there would tell me that the motor sits in the same place). like i said the ecu will be the hard part. if you want to be safe just put a turbo tranny in there too.

yea thats the plan i jus hope the tranny isnt gonna be to much more with the engine having n if the 4g64 does bolt up wont hurt to have an extra tarnny laying around just in case ;)

i am almost positive the tranny would bolt up too. the prob would be is it the same as the turbo tranny. get the part number for your tranny and check it for the turbo one. if its not the turbo one i would advise you put one in b/c it probably wouldn't be able to take the power. if anyone does this let me know how it goes i got a friend that wants to do it
