r u sure? have u done it?...the only reason why im asking is cuz i sold a guy a spyder gs tranny for his gst and i said it would fit blah blah blah...and the guy says the axles dont fit?!..does he have to swap the diff?

Yes I am sure it will fit. I also believe the axles are the same. I think he just doesnt know any tricks of popping them into the tranny.

You have to realize, that the spyder n/a is a 4g64, and the gst is a 4g63. Both are "almost" identicle, therefore the trannies will mate up to each others blocks. The gear ratios are however different. It all comes down to the axles, and from the part numbers I just looked at, the axles are the same as well.

ya i totoally agree with you!..thats why i sold it to him in the first place..but now hes sayign it wont fit and he want to retrun it! wont should i do?..jsut say "try agian" or "sorry i know it fits its not my fault you cant do it!" LOL

If he knew it wasn't the right tranny for his car and he bought it anyways thats his own fault.

Yes it would be his own fault, but I know people have put GST trannies in their Spyder GS, and the ONLY thing that is different are the gear ratios. Tell him he is WRONG.

so i was talking with the guy who bought my tranny and he got took some measurements and they where.

His Axle - 1.093 inch

The Transmission - 1.011 inch

they have the same number of splines...so cant he just swap the diff?

I'm pretty sure if they have the same number of splines it should work. Either way, tell buying new axles is gonna be his best bet. They arent even that expensive.

it should fit, i know a few people running GST trannies on their spyder and galants (exact same motor as spyder)

Just to clear things up, the axles on the spyder transmission are smaller than the gs-t axles. I myself just tried to put my friends spyder tranny in my gs-t and my axles are too big. He is sending me his axles so I can just use them. Only thing that sucks is now I'm actually downgrading my drivetrain.
