Poland, Europe
Hello to everyone. Its my first post, pleasure to be in DSM squad. I live in Europe, so as you can imagine I struggle with spare parts. It’s a Mitsubishi Eclipse 1992 FWD 150hp non turbo and I’m looking for springs, struts are available but as for springs it’s none, 0. I’m NOT searching for some lowering kit, no no, only OEM parts. (hate lowering stuff.. bad roads and I like it as original as it could be) Amayama have only in Japan and Latvia, but prices are just mad.

Does anyone have specs of those springs to fit in maybe from other cars? Thanks.

Sooooooo, after some research, closest I can get is TRW JCS1149 from a Ford Fiesta 😆. DSM Specs for rear coil spring is:
Wire thickness : 10,2mm
Width : 105,2
Long : 316,5
TRW JCS1149
Wire thickness : 10,25mm
Width : 109mm
long : 320mm
I’m gonna try that in next week or even later, when my struts will be available in store.
Obviously I understand that it’s a long shot and probably will be too soft but still worth try. I will update my failure or smugness later. Thx

Edit:
It won’t fit. Lower part of the coil spring is tight. But I found a jackpot. It’s Magnum SZ8000MT, only problem is thickness, 1mm more so it will be stiffer than original. You ask for cost? It’s 30$ not 200 as it is on JamaJama 😄

With rough roads I would use factory springs. Would use Koni struts and shocks. Make sure all of your suspension is in good shape.

Amayama send me an email that they not making anymore of the springs and production has ended. So only way is; front from Subaru Outback, ~2009 and back from Suzuki Vitara gen 1 (same specs). In next week I’m gonna try to fit them with new shocks.@ pagosa dsm: Koni is not available in Europe. Only KYB and I have been told that I take last of them. Same for springs and to be honest all of the parts. It’s and US car so parts are only in US. Even PCV valve I have from Nevada..
I will update in next week if the springs fit.

Think out of the box. There might be something from another car that will fit. Check with the measurement of our car with an other car. A Koni rep might be able to help you. I have Bilstien from a 3000 GT on my 92 Talon. I had to make the front housings for the inserts. A Bilstein rep in California helped with this build. I used Ground Control coil over kit with 350 pound springs in the front and 250 pound springs in the rear. I have a post on Tuners on this.

I’ve tried different cars but no luck so far. At least for now we are stuck with lowering springs in EU. Thanks for reply.

You could install an Evo front strut with a little work. Might have to drill larger holes in the spindle. For the rear maybe a 2nd gen rear shock has been used. I use Bilstien HD. The front will bolt up. The rear you have to make a bushing at the bottom so it fits your mounting bolt. Nothing will be a simple bolt on.
