So as of next week (april 1st) i have a two week vacation from work. I have many ideas on things i want done to my 2g in that time frame and im dabbling with the idea of upgrading to hid lights. I know there are probably hundredsa of over posts asking how to go about this and such. But, im looking to upgrade my headlights and fog lights. Where do i purchase what i need, how do i go about installing, what should i be weary of and yadda yadda. Any help is appreciated Thank you!

I have ordered kits from these guys. They were nice kits. I ordered cheaper from ebay and the ballasts kept going bad.. so i replaced with this kit. Not on a dsm, trailbazer ss.

Also consider getting a projector style headlight housing. This way your hid beam is not blinding everyone around you. I'm not a hater.... it's just annoying when someone is driving behind you with a half a$$ headlight setup, blinding you like no other. Haha. Doesn't bother the owner of that car... but everyone ahead of you wants to brake check you haha.

Install is pretty straight forward. What ever kit you buy should have instructions. The kit I bought was plug and play. I did have to email them to confirm it was plug and play.

And like I said beware of super cheap kits. I had ballast issues.

The best way to do hids is to get another set of headlights and heat them up to open them and install a projector from an oem headlight that has hids. My headlights have Lexus projectors and hids retrofitted. And my old high beams are now yellow fog lights pointed down.
I I didn't build them myself. I bought them this way but it's a perfect beam pattern and looks like it's meant to be this way.

If you just throw in hids without projectors the light pattern will be all over the place.
