spool up whine LOUD after j-pipe replacement

Ok I did a boost leak test yesterday on my car and found a couple of leaks and fixed all except for one until today which was the POS j-pipe I had. So I went to the junk yard and lucked up on a stock unit.

I replaced the POS one and put the stocker on. Well I get in the car take it for a drive and now its making this loud ass whinning noise Ive never heard before!

The car pulls fine, has a little shaft play, but nothing to major.

Can any one explain this? The car has never done this before.WTF

What you're describing sounds like a boost leak at the j-pipe. Double-check your connection, and be sure to use some RTV on the j-pipe gasket....but don't overdo it.

It was one of the bolts to the j-pipe that was not torqued down. Fixed it and no more loud abnormal whine, just the normal spool up whine angain!
