Speedometer problems

My speedometer did not work since i bought the car 5 months ago, and now in the winter it sometimes does. If i dont drive my car for 12 hours when its below freezing or so, the speedometer works , also when it works the car is kinda of sluggish.

Any one esle have this problem, or now the cause of it?

What generation? If it's a 1G, you need to either replace your speedometer cable or lube it. You're ahead to replace it.
