before i replaced my speed sensor i went looking for pics on here of what i should expect the white gear to look like but didn't see any - when i pulled mine out i took a few pics in case anyone else was wondering the same thing - very easy replacement - paid about $56 on mitsubishiparts.com

Nice info! I need to change mine too. I was a dumb shit and rolled my tranny on its side to clean it and snapped the sensor right off. :(

How does that come out? Remove that 1 small 10mm bolt then just pry up on it? Take the snap ring off to remove the sensor from the gear shaft?
