Okay. If I understand correctly. Crossovers act as switchboards that send different frequencies different speakers in the car. (lows to subs, highs to tweeters, mids to mid-range). With that being said, my 98' eclipse has 1 set of 3.5" speakers and two sets of 6.5" speakers (front and rear). What I would like to know is if I can take a crossover, like what is seen in full component sets, and use it to split my the frequencies going to each set of speakers. For instance, sending the highs to the 3.5"s and send the mids and lows to my midrange 6.5"s. Is this possible?, if so how possible and what do I need to consider and consider purchasing to make this happen?
let me know
I am planning on installing a alpine 300 watt rms/1000 watts max amp/sub system very soon. And was looking for a way to have a nice, sharp highs and clear mids to accompany the bass from the system.
