I am an experienced mechanic and have been playin with dsms for a long while now. This problem has got me stumped though. I've tried everything from standard ngk plug to $50/set pulstars... My car is eating the plugs for lunch within a 500 to 1200 mls duration. They are turning yellow like they're possibly heat soaked. I've replaced injector, fuel preasure regulator(twice), water pump, radiator, exhaust manifold(2g), ignition coils, and plug wires. Any ideas????

Pics would be helpful. My first thought is valve stem seals, does it smoke through the exhaust at all?

NGK BPR6ES is he only plug anyone will recommended here for a stock-400hp car.

kinda like the one in 8, but more yellow and on both sides of the threads. my plugs don't last more than 500 to 1200 miles. then i end up with missing at idle and spits, sputters, and falls on its face if i go over 3500 rpms or try to go pass an eighth of throttle.

and the plugs don't look near as rough as either one of those 2 pictures either

as for smoke... i get an oil burn smoke if the car idles for more than 5 minutes. its a small amount, soi know the motor in general could use a refresh. now i have had this same conditions(tired motor), but those motors did smoke with 230k plus miles on them. those motors never did this. i like this idea though. it makes sense, but what thoughts are you having on this at the same time?

I have nothing ringing in my head that tells me its obviously a particular condition.

Maybe pull the fpr return hose, and let it drain into a container, and make sure the fuel looks normal.
Test the coils and see if they are good.
Verify your base timing is good.
Boost leak test to ensure your not ..leaking.

My ideas include:

Sh!tty fuel additives. :hmm:
Bad fuel, always go to the same station?
lean+oil may end up yellowish perhaps.

now shots in the dark.
Erm.. to low resistance in the wires...
Fuel filter is contaminated w/ the devil :idontknow:
To rich, not allowing the plugs to get hot enough to self clean ( I think the result would be black fyi).

Edit: I've never even heard of this...

"Splashed fouling, as shown below, may sometimes occur after a long-delayed tune-up. Here, deposits accumulated after long periods of misfiring or low power operation may be suddenly loosened when normal combustion temperatures are restored after a set of new plugs has been installed. During a high-speed run, these materials shedding off the piston are thrown against the hot insulator surfaces."

Are your pistons all coked up? If so, maybe try seafoaming that dirty girl.

edit 2: have you tried a step colder plug to see if it is a heat issue?

well... i think/know i got my answer tonight. i was running down i-10 around 75 mph and it happened... the dredded power surge before the pop. she spun a bearing. i've been rebuilding her from the ground up.and trying to keep up with the failing systems. go figure once everything else has been addressed and she's all dialed in (which is when i normally pluck the motor... the after i know all systems are within spec for rebuild and mods) she spins a bearing. from the sounds of it... the number 3 cylinder(original and continual starter of this issue). You were correct on incorrect combustion. just it was bottom end i guess. thank you for tryin to help. thats alot of knowledge you shared.

Welp.. that stinks. but at least a new motor will give you a clean slate. I appreciate the thanks, just mark my post as helpful if you feel it was.
