I changed my spark plug and wires yesterday. Everything looked good until I got to the far left spark plug and found an orange/tanish residue on the plug. The spark plug was clean and looked good. There is orange ish down the hole walls.

By looking at the pic should i worry? Could it be a cracked head or should I just check the new wire in a couple weeks?

Drive with a vented hood in the rain much at all?
The coloring bares resemblance to corrosion and water damage.

If there was any lithium grease put on the boots from what looks like years ago and then water got in or around your valve cover (which it definitely looks like) that would explain all the colors of the rainbow.

I bought this car a couple months ago so I have no idea what the previous owner was doing LOL. I thought it was weird the top was also orange making me think maybe some water was sprayed and then leaked down? :hmm:

I would look around for other areas of water damage to electrical components.

I.e connections at your starter, alternator, battery as well as any damage to the main wiring harness and connectors.

If it's old and corroded, replace it or clean it up.
