My number 1 spark plug boot keeps wanting to blow out. The only thing holding it down is the spark plug wire cover. There is so much pressure being built up that it actually busted out the bolt holding down that corner of the cover. There is also oil on top of the spark plug.

Is there suppose to be this much pressure in the head?

What would be causing this?

Thank you in advance for your help

is the plug tight ? a loose or stripped plug is the only thing that i know of that will have enough pressure to screw up one of the bolts . the oil is prob from a bad gasket .

The grommet gasket between the head and the valve cover in the spark plug well may have a tear in it, causing oil to flow into the spark plug well. Pressure from the valve cover may also be blowing out your plug wire. change your valve cover gasket/grommets and see if the problem goes away. Takes about 20 minutes to do. Don't forget any tools or stuff in the head when you put it back together. :)

Get a new PCV valve while you are there. Also make sure you are tightning the valve cover bolts to no more than 3lbs/ft.

Will there is ussually alot of pressure in the cylinder.. LOL If your blowing that spark plug wire off the plug then I would say you have a problem with that cylinders spark plug thread.. Take the spark plug out(when the car is cool) and see how the threads are.
